One of the projects that has kept me away from POP77 is an art and lit zine that I edit titled “A Paw in My Face”. Yes, the name is indeed nicked from a track from The Field’s amazing album “Here We Go Sublime”. And, as part of each the launch of each issue, I’ve created – what else? – mixsets.

So as a thank you for all of the warm feedback that I’ve received over the re-launch of this blog, I thought I’d post a Paw In My Face mix that I’d titled “Spank You Very Much”. As a bonus, this mix is complete with downloadable PDF cover art + tracklist. Go Me!

Seven things you probably don’t know about me 5

My friend Neil Lee @ the BeatnikPad tagged with this meme earlier this month. With the “25 Random Things” notes making the rounds in the past few days – I thought that it was time to put together this list. So without further ado:

Seven things you probably don’t know about me:

1. I graduated from High School with a French Immersion diploma. Unfortunately, years of primarily English language employment has robbed me of the ability to speak the language fluently. It does allow me, however, to watch French language films without having to read the subtitles :)

2. When I was 6 years old, my mom gave birth to a stillborn baby girl. So I have a sister that I never got a chance to meet. I actually think about her often and wonder what her life would have been – and who she would have been to me.

3. When I was 12, I was convinced that I would either be a movie special effects make-up artist or an astronaut. These career choices were mostly the result of my obsession with the movies “E.T.” and “Gremlins”.

4. On stormy nights, I really love to lay in bed, shut my eyes and listen to the sound of the rain outside my window. I find it a reminder that I am but a small part of a something much, much bigger than myself.

5. I make fantastic scrambled eggs – seriously they will change your life.

6. When I first saw the movie “The Incredibles”, my eyes actually welled up in tears. It wasn’t that I was sad – I was just so overwhelmed by seeing something that created with such, passion, love and care – something so perfect. (Same thing happened when I watched “Wall-E”).

7. I am an amazing kisser
